6. It's confirmed: Nike ACG Sigulda Marathon 2008 is included in
qualification list of world most famous trail run -
Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc (UTMB, 166
km, 9400 m ascend, 46 h)!
All runners completing longest - 55 km - course in Sigulda will be
awarded with 1 qualification point for UTMB. 4 points in total
necessary to qualify for Mont-Blanc ultra-marathon. More info about

OVERVIEW
Nike
ACG Sigulda Marathon 2008 - toughest off-road and trail running event in Latvia
and possibly in Baltics! Event sponsored by Nike ACG.
It's 5th edition
of ACG Marathon in Latvia - off-road running
competition in
11, 22, 44 un 55 km distances. There are no boring kilometers of asphalt
roads. You will run on dirt roads, trails and even off-road in
challenging terrain full of natural obstacles.
New race course
is set every year!

RULES 1. Distance
1.1.
Nike ACG Sigulda Marathon
(Competition) course is set on
dirt roads, trails and even off-road in challenging terrain full of
natural obstacles.
1.2.
There are four distances to choose: 11 km, 22 km, 44 km and 55 km.
1.3. Course configuration: 11 km loop with start and finish at the
same place. Total ascend in loop is at least 350 m.
1.4.
Course is marked with red and white tape. Judges are set along the
course.
2.
Participants
2.1.
Participant must be at least 18 years old on start day. Participants
from 16 years are allowed on quarter-marathon (11 km).
2.2.
Participant brings full responsibility about his health condition
and ability to run chosen distance.
2.3.
Participants are divided into Men and Women and four age groups - up
to 18, up to 21, up to 40, up to
60 years and older.
2.4.
Participant chooses distance during registration on start day.
Participant competes only in chosen distance. If another distance is
done result will be fixed but out of competition.
3.
Application
3.1.
Application in advance may be done till October 29. Application form is
available under the Application.

3.2.
Participation fee includes: course preparation, judges work, number
bibs, snacks and drinks on course and after the finish, shower,
prize pool.
4. Start
4.1.
Participants registrate in race center on November 1 from 8.00 till 10.30.
4.2.
Participant receives number bibs which should be attached in front
on race shirt and clearly visible during the competition.
4.3.
Start is common for all classes and groups at 11.00.
5.
On course
5.1.
Participant should keep to marked course. Running out of marked
course will lead to disqualification.
5.2.
Judges are set along the course to control competition.
5.3.
In case of serious injury participant should ask other competitor to
report at nearest judge who will contact race center and organize
evaquation to finish.
5.4.
Time limit for competition -
6 hours.
Finish is closed at 17.00.
Exception: 8 hours for 55 km runners. Finish is closed at 19.00.
5.5.
Snacks and drinks will be available on course after each 5,5 km.
6. Awards
6.1. Prize pool
value is LVL 2000.
6.2. All runners
completing 44 or 55 km distance receive medals.
6.3. Prizes and
diplomas are given to first three runners in each class and group.
If there is less then seven competitors in group only first one will
be awarded.
6.2. Award
ceremony is held approximately 1 hour after the finish of first
three runners in group.
